Corporate Zen With Len: A Conscious Advantage


1) LOST PRODUCTIVITY: Lack of engagement leads to tremendous waste, low productivity, and lost potential. I have witnessed thousands of business people and I would estimate that well over 80% of people at organizations are not reaching anywhere near their capacity. Why?

Many people are not truly inspired and motivated. They see their roles as ‘jobs’ where they can take home their paychecks. When I ask, ‘What is the organization’s purpose’, less than 10% can even articulate the purpose and vision of their organization clearly. The workforce generally is not connected to the organization in ways that they are fully engaged and love their work and what they are creating. In my introductory workshops, when I ask, ‘What do you really want?’, many participants say, ‘I want to retire’.

Many studies show that the vast majority of their workforce is not fully engaged. For example, “Only 13% of employees worldwide are engaged at work, according to Gallup's new 142-country study on the State of the Global Workplace. In other words, about one in eight workers -- roughly 180 million employees in the countries studied -- are psychologically committed to their jobs and likely to be making positive contributions to their organizations.” [i]

2) STRESS!!!! After working as both an executive and consulting for a great number of organizations over the decades, it is obvious that excess stress holds back personal and organizational development.

There are many studies showing the pitfalls of job stress to both the person and organization. For instance, the American Institute of Stress states, “Numerous studies show that job stress is far and away the major source of stress for American adults and that it has escalated progressively over the past few decades.” Some conclusions of the study “Attitudes in the American Workplace VII,” state that “The vast majority of American workers say they are stressed, more than a third say that their job is harming their physical or emotional well-being, 42% say job pressures are interfering with their family or personal lives, and half report more demanding workloads than they had a year ago.

3) Stifled Creativity – WE KEEP DOING THE SAME THINGS

DUE TO OUR PROGRAMMING AND REACTIVITY We are conditioned and programmed beings. It is estimated that we have tens of thousands of thoughts per day and more than 95% of them are the same from day to day!

How it Works

The program consists of a series of 6-8 mindfulness training sessions covering a set of practical tools in each session.

Participants are given exercises to practice between sessions.

Each program is customized for your specific organization.

Metrics and Measurements

Measuring progress is paramount.

We use a combination of metrics and measurements so that we can see the value of the mindfulness practices.

  • Using biometric devices that capture data related to each participant’s mindfulness so that one can clearly see progress

  • Surveys, before and after the process, measuring levels of engagement, stress, and clarity in thinking

  • Measurement of KPIs (key performance indicators) such as profitability, customer service, employee satisfaction, before and after the process, and estimated attribution to the mindfulness training (this is generally done over longer periods of time).
